  • The CAPE building offers world-leading photonics and electronics research and prototype development facilities under one roof. The facilities and equipment available all fall under Cambridge University Engineering Departments's Electrical Engineering Division.

    There is almost 5,000m2 of research, clean room and laboratory space for R&D work in Electrical Engineering. The cleanroom facilities, located at the top of the building on a single floor, are ranked above many in corporate ownership and in other academic centres of excellence.

    By road the CAPE building is located in the West Cambridge Site adjacent to Junction 13 on the M11 motorway and the journey time from central London is approximately 75 minutes. Parking is available at the building entrance or, by prior arrangement, to the rear of the building.

    By rail the First Capital Connect direct service from London Kings Cross to Cambridge runs regularly throughout the day with an approximate journey time of 45 minutes.

    By air and rail from London Stansted Airport the CrossCountry direct service runs throughout the day with an approximate journey time of 30-35 minutes.

    By taxi from Cambridge Rail Station the journey time is approximately 20 minutes.
